Maintenance update & retirement of older login, sci & xfer servers

Dear JASMIN users,

The scheduled JASMIN maintenance yesterday was completed successfully. In addition to the routine patching of servers for important updates, a network change was made which should mitigate against some recent issues. LOTUS queues were restarted at 18:00.

As previously announced, the following RHEL6 "login", "sci" and "xfer" servers have now been retired from service:

Retired login servers:

jasmin-login1.ceda.ac.uk

jasmin-login2.ceda.ac.uk

jasmin-login3.ceda.ac.uk

jasmin-login4.ceda.ac.uk

cems-login1.cems.rl.ac.uk

comm-login1.cems.rl.ac.uk

Retired sci servers:

jasmin-sci1.ceda.ac.uk

jasmin-sci2.ceda.ac.uk

jasmin-sci4.ceda.ac.uk

jasmin-sci5.ceda.ac.uk

cems-sci1.cems.rl.ac.uk

Retired xfer servers:

jasmin-xfer1.ceda.ac.uk

cems-xfer1.cems.rl.ac.uk

Even if some of the retired servers still appear available for a limited period, they are no longer supported so should no longer be used.

Users are now asked to use the new CentOS7 servers as follows:

login[1,2,4].jasmin.ac.uk

sci[1,2,4,5].jasmin.ac.uk

xfer[1,2].jasmin.ac.uk

Further details can be found here: https://help.jasmin.ac.uk/article/4859-centos7-sci-login-xfer-servers

Thank you for your attention and please look out for further announcements.
