Please note the following updates for your attention:
Network at-risk periods 23rd Nov & 1st Dec 2021
On Tuesday 23rd November, there will be a short at-risk period at 10:00, in preparation for further reconfiguration work the following week. The initial change should be transparent to users but there is a risk of disruption.
On Wednesday 1st December, also at 10:00, the subsequent change will take place, involving a reconfiguration of the RAL site network.
While the intervention to change over to the new connection should be short, connections may be dropped and sessions interrupted.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
Globus endpoint changes
We previously announced a new Globus Endpoint using JASMIN credentials. This will now replace the previous endpoint which used CEDA account credentials: the endpoint currently labelled “JASMIN Gridftp server (ceda credentials)” (ID=4cc8c764-0bc1-11e6-a740-22000bf2d559) will be taken down on Wednesday 23rd November 2021. The new endpoint provides an interface to the same server, so transfer functionality is identical once authenticated.
From now on, please only use the endpoint labelled “JASMIN Globus endpoint (jasmin credentials)” (ID=2b0a1a4c-ee1f-11eb-b467-eb47ba14b5cc).
Process for requesting resources on JASMIN
A new JASMIN Projects Portal is now available for the process of managing requests for resources on JASMIN. User guides for this process can be found here (for project/gws managers) and here (for consortium managers). The old system at manage.jasmin.ac.uk will be closed to public access on Wednesday 23rd November but all recent requests will be ported over to the new system and processed in due course: please bear with us while we work through the backlog of requests which built up while waiting for new storage space to become available.
Further information will be sent out separately to Project/GWS managers about how they should access this new system to see their project(s).
