Dear CEDA and JASMIN users,
We wanted to reassure you that the JASMIN and CEDA teams are keeping a close eye on the status of the coronavirus situation. We are working on contingency plans in order to maintain our services as best we can during this difficult time. The following things should be considered by users:
Services at risk due to small team
The JASMIN/CEDA team is a small team with many services supported by a limited number of key individuals. Following government advice on 16th March, much of the team is now working remotely and will be for the foreseeable future. JASMIN and CEDA services have some dependencies on core infrastructure beyond our control such as network and power. Our services are therefore at risk in the coming months.
Delay to user support
Please be patient when reporting issues: there may be delayed responses on the helpdesk, some issues may take longer to resolve than normal, and some issues may be beyond the capability of the available team to resolve. We are working to define a “minimum service” which we would aim to keep running as continuously as possible.
As part of our plans for maintaining JASMIN and CEDA services during the coronavirus outbreak, we have taken the decision to postpone the JASMIN conference until further notice. We intend to hold the conference again when we are confident all staff can put the necessary time into preparation, and conference attendees are more likely to be able to attend. All submitted abstracts will be kept and will not need to be resubmitted.
Please bear with us over the coming months and be assured that we endeavour to do our utmost to keep services running for you.
