CEDA Outreach and Knowledge Sharing

As part of the Science and Technology Facilities Council, CEDA seeks ways to engage with the wider science community and, where possible, to provide learning and skills development opportunities. On this page you will find information about how CEDA can help you and your orgnaisation to gain from our skills and experience.

With CEDAs many years of experience in environmental data management and involvement in the development of the underpinning standards and web technology CEDA staff have built up a national and international reputation. CEDA does not currently provide consulting services around this expertise, but where funding can be acquired, CEDA staff can take part in joint projects where the project would directly address the facilitation and/or curation goals of CEDA, or result in the acquistion of relevant new skills by CEDA staff. Should you wish to discuss either drawing on that knowledge for your own organisation or to discuss possible collaboration on a project please get in touch.

Environmental Data Management Training

CEDA staff have run a variety of training excercises covering various aspects of environmental data management and are willing to run similar training courses for interested groups. Please contact us to discuss your training needs.

Community Outreach

Members of CEDA staff will be happy to engage in outreach activites at all levels of education. For example, our staff have been involved in science demonstrations at the World Scout Jamboree, given public talks at Cafe Scinentifique events and presentations at post-graduate summer schools. Our backgrounds in the various atmospheric science (from climate change to atmospheric dynamics), earth observation and solar-terrestrial research as well as all aspects of data curation, means there is a wealth of knowledge in the group that we are happy to share.

Please contact us to discuss your needs.
