Please be aware of the following planned work on JASMIN:
1) SCRATCH AREA CLEARANCE
Today (Wed 5th June) as previously announced, data on /work/scratch and /work/scratch-nompiio with modification dates of older than 90 days will be deleted. This area is needed as intermediate storage for LOTUS processing and should not be used for medium or long-term storage of user data. Thank you for your cooperation in moving data away from these areas if not strictly necessary to be there.
2) LOTUS LSF Upgrade Thursday 27th June
LSF, the job management system used for JASMIN's LOTUS batch processing cluster, will be upgraded on this date, with LOTUS unavailable for the whole day. This involves migrating the LSF master to new hardware and upgrading the LSF software version. Queues will be closed as of the evening of Wednesday 26th June after which it will not be possible to submit new jobs until after the work has completed.
3) Virtual machine image storage ugrade Wednesday 12th June
Storage used for virtual machine images currently planned for upgrade on Wednesday 12th June. This involves a firmware upgrade with no anticipated need for downtime, but systems (ie. all virtual machines within JASMIN and CEDA, including cloud tenancies) should be considered "at risk" on this date.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation and apologies for any inconvenience caused.
