JASMIN/CEDA service interruption: latest news (1500 Thurs 23rd Nov)

 Most JASMIN based services remain in an operational state at present, including all JASMIN login, LOTUS, Group Work Spaces, CEDA Archive and services (e.g. catalogue, WPS, user services).

Other non-JASMIN supported services (e.g. project Trac sites) are on infrastructure connected by site networking. Unfortunately, immediately prior to the power cut affecting the surround area a spike in power affected large numbers of network switches across the entire of CEDA/JASMIN's host site. Site networking teams have deployed all available reserves of network switches, but parts of the network still remain unconnected at present. 

During this time the systems admin team have been implementing a series of workarounds to bring some of these additional services back online over the last 24 hours and hope to bring a few other key services back online whilst replacement network switches are deployed across the site.

Please note, the CEDA/JASMIN user helpdesk remains online to answer user queries where possible and users are advised to follow the @cedanews Twitter feed in addition to these email announcements.
