Advance Notice: CEDA Archive and JASMIN storage downtime: 12-13th July
Posted by: CEDA Helpdesk 2 weeks, 1 day ago
All JASMIN and CEDA users are advised that there will be a 24-hour downtime of hardware storage hardwards underpinning these services. on 12-13 July. This is in order to apply software upgrades enabling the integration of additional storage. This is the first such intervention required since January 2015 and the existing storage has been in continuous operation since then.
The affected storage includes all Group Workspaces, the CEDA Archive (/badc, /neodc) all user home directories.
ALL areas of JASMIN where this storage is mounted will be unavailable for this time, including:
- login servers
- transfer servers
- scientific analysis servers
- LOTUS processing cluster
- project-specific servers
- CEDA Archive and other services which rely on JASMIN storage
- Cloud tenancies in the managed infrastructure
The work is NOT expected to affect tenancies in the JASMIN Unmanaged Cloud, or other services which do not rely on the storage.
However, some disruption could still occur so users are advised to consider the entire JASMIN environment and CEDA Archive “at risk” during the period
Wednesday 12 July 08:00 - Thursday 13 July 08:00.
We apologise for inconvenience which this essential maintenance will cause.
