JASMIN and CEDA services at risk 24-26th July 2018 due to power testing

Between 24 and 26 July 2018, testing of power distribution units will be taking place in the machine room used for hosting the JASMIN infrastructure which hosts many JASMIN and CEDA services.

Brief disruption to JASMIN home directories and scratch storage, Wed 13 June 2018

There will be a brief disruption to JASMIN home directories and scratch storage on Wednesday 13th June 2018. A firmware upgrade is scheduled for the storage system used for JASMIN home directories and scratch area /work/scratch-nompiio between 07:30-09:30. Interactive users may experience occasional 30-second pauses during this time window.

Global gathering of data scientists at PV2018 - view their presentations now!

PV2018 took place at CEDA’s home site in Harwell, Oxfordshire on 15-17th May. The conference​ focussed on addressing the opportunities in understanding vast datasets and assessing ways to take that new information and make it useable to the widest variety of disciplines for societal benefit and commercial growth.

System Update Day: Tuesday 3rd July (advance notice)

As previously announced, we aim to group together maintenance updates to servers which provide CEDA and JASMIN services to minimise disruption to users and to keep our systems up to date and secure. This includes kernel patches as well as updates to essential system packages, and can involve rebooting systems for the changes to take effect.
